Ideas about health and sickness exist in specific cultural contexts and reflect the values, beliefs and customs associated with each of these contexts. There are thus many interpretations of the term “health” that are conflicting or incompatible, since they reflect particular points of view which cannot easily be passed on from one culture to another….
